Preventive Dentistry:
Dental health involves both a home care routine of regular brushing, flossing, and rinsing, and regular visits for professional dental care. A maintenance program of regular oral examinations, dental cleanings, polishings, and treatments is an essential part of a beautiful smile . .

Dental Prophylaxis: Cleanings and Exams
Dr. Seitz, or a registered dental hygienist, will clean your teeth removing plaque and tartar buildup. She will polish your teeth to remove stains and restore their natural white color. Dr. Seitz will periodically obtain digital radiographs to look for decay between your teeth as well as assess the health of the bone holding your teeth in place. During each visit Dr. Seitz will thoroughly examine your teeth for decay, the health of any dental restorations, your gums for signs of periodontal disease, and your oral cavity for lesions that may require further evaluation.
Periodontal Treatments:
When dental plaque extends below the gum-line it can cause gum disease (gingivitis) and periodontal disease (periodontitis) which if untreated can lead to loosening and loss of teeth. With regular deep scaling and root planning treatments and use of prescribed antiseptic rinses, such as Peridex, periodontal disease can be safely treated and tooth loss avoided. Topical fluoride treatments also can reduce gum sensitivity and decay near the gum-line.
Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry:
Each patient will receive a carefully considered treatment plan to optimize their oral health. The benefits, risks and alternatives of the treatments will be discussed. Dr. Seitz practices conservative dentistry attempting whenever possible to maintain your natural tooth structure.
Treatment plans may include:
Fillings: Tooth-colored Composite Resins (R) and Silver Amalgams (L)
